Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face, has surpassed his generation because the legend remains relevant in the music industry even when many of his contemporaries are struggling to survive the dynamic terrain of music.
His contributions in the industry cannot be quantified but there are some things his fans may not know about him.
His recent album, The Ascension, was the highest selling album on iTunes for weeks even as his evergreen track, ‘African Queen’, which was the first video to be aired on the MTV Base Africa, was featured in 2006 FOX searchlight Comedy “Phat Girlz” featuring Monique.
Before he became a megastar, he composed and sang jingles at Enugu State broadcasting service. He has six solo albums and three group albums with the Plantashun Boiz that he started with Faze and Blackface.
In his over 16 years in music, he received over 40 awards locally and internationally as well as being International Youth Ambassador for Peace Summit, ambassador for NAFDAC and Red Cross Society of Nigeria.
Following the fact that he lost his father to cancer, he now has a foundation for fighting the dreaded disease and also dedicated to promoting peace and development.
The entrepreneur, with investment in real estate and the popular night club (Club Rumours), is the only Nigerian artiste with an MTV Europe Music Video Award before it was stopped.
