The management of Huawei, the Chinese telecoms and network carrier, has said it is willing to engage the United States government concerning an executive order by President Donald Trump which sought to restrict U.S. companies from using any telecoms equipment manufactured by Huawei.
In a statement sent to TheNiche, the company said the executive order will only serve to relegate the U.S. to the background in terms of telecoms development.
“Restricting Huawei from doing business in the US will not make the US more secure or stronger; instead, this will only serve to limit the US to inferior yet more expensive alternatives, leaving the US lagging behind in 5G deployment, and eventually harming the interests of US companies and consumers. In addition, unreasonable restrictions will infringe upon Huawei’s rights and raise other serious legal issues,” the statement said.
Huawei is organized around three core business segments: Telecom Carrier Networks, building telecommunications networks and services. Enterprise Business, providing equipment, software, and services to enterprise customers, e.g. Government Solutions.
