The 37-year-old ‘Been Long You Saw Me’ crooner, however, added that there was nothing wrong with the youngsters copying what he and Don Jazzy did.

Speaking during the chat, he said: “Me and Don Jazzy have always had a bond. He knows I always come with energy. Even in the studio, I’m always pumped. I’m like, yo, let’s do this sound. And he makes sure he kills it.

“So, it’s like symbiotic [relationship]. I feel like me and Don Jazzy created the syllabus of music. We created a syllabus of music and a lot of people read that and then took what they had to take to create their own. And that is what is happening now.

“There is no problem with that as long as we are still here making magic with the new generation’s sounds.”

Wande Coal and Don Jazzy worked together at the defunct Mo’Hits Records before he later joined the music producer at Mavin Records after the former record label was dissolved.

The duo later parted ways in 2013 but remained good friends.
