Salgado sustained a serious leg injury during Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over South Africa at the Stade Larbi Zaouli on Tuesday

Super Falcons of Nigeria on Tuesday evening sent a “get well soon” message to South Africa’s Gabriela Salgado following both sides’ 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) semi-final encounter.
Salgado who plays in the midfield for the Banyana Banyana sustained a serious leg injury during Nigeria’s 2-1 victory against South Africa at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca, Morocco.
Goals from Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade and defender, Mitchelle Alozie ensured the nine time champions progressed to the final of this year’s tournament.
However, in a post via the Super Falcons’ official X account after the game, the Nigerian ladies wished Salgado a quick recovery.

“We wish South Africa’s Gabriela Salgado a swift and full recovery,” Super Falcons tweeted after the game.
“Health comes first. Strength to you, Gabriela.”
Meanwhile, Nigeria after the win, will now face Morocco in the WAFCON final on Saturday.
The host nation on Tuesday night defeated West African representative, Ghana in one of the semi-final ties via a penalty shootout.
