Video showing Mr Ibu telling singer, Paul Okoye, ‘when the time comes, it has come’ surfaces

Mr Ibu passed away on Saturday, March 2, after a long battle with an ailment at the age of 62

A video suggesting that veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu might have had a premonition of his death has surfaced on social media. 

The clip which captured one of the last moments of the thespian before his death on Saturday, showed him on his hospital bed expressing gratitude to singer, Paul Okoye of the P-Square band.

He noted that everything happens on God’s time, adding that “when the time comes, it has come.”

Speaking in the now-viral clip, Mr Ibu said: “Rudeboy, I don’t know where to begin. But everything happens exactly on God’s own time. When the time comes, it has come.

“Rudeboy, if you don’t make heaven, call me nama [meat]. You will go to heaven and we will sit in the presence of the angels and eat together.

“What people will be talking about today would be, ‘How come? But Ibu and P-Square, they are not the same parents.’ But I tell you, parents don come.”

TheNiche had earlier reported that Mr Ibu died on Saturday after a long battle with an ailment at the age of 62.

His death was confirmed by the National President, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, who said, “Sad Day for Actors Guild of Nigeria. Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr lbu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it. May his soul rest in peace.”
