Nigerian soldiers have been caught on camera brutalising a teacher who works in the Command School, Ipaja in Lagos State. The school is owned by the ministry of defence.

It is not clear why the incident happened, but according to Sahara Reporters, the attack against the man was led by one Lt Akubor.

The man being attacked was referred to as the school bursar in the video who also is in the rank of an assistant director as a staff of the ministry of defence.

The soldiers, dressed in military fatigue numbering about five, ferociously attacked the Assistant Director with kicks and blows. He tried to run away from the rains of the blows and kicks, but the soldiers would not allow him. They chased him inside the school premises where the attack continued despite screams of protest from onlookers.

Also in the video, a military officer was seen pacing majestically while the beating was taking place. But a female soldier was seen trying to restrain her colleagues who seemed determined to impress their boss.

In Nigeria, incidents of security officials, especially soldiers and police attacking civilians are common.

In Kaduna, a 16-year-old girl last week enlisted the services of soldiers who tortured a 13-year-old boy over a false allegation that he stole her N10,000. The lad committed suicide six days after the torture.
