The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has said he almost shed tears of joy after seeing a large turnout at the rally of the party in Ekiti today despite an attempt by the state government to sabotage it.
Atiku, while addressing crowd of supporters at the venue of the rally held at Ado Ekiti, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in the state engineered a public transportation strike and followed it up by creating an artificial fuel scarcity just to discourage people from attending the event.
Prior to the rally, videos emerged on social media showing people trekking to the venue of the rally. The trekkers claimed that the government sponsored a shutdown of transportation in the state in a bid to discourage them from attending the rally,
