Vidal said since VAR was introduced, referees have not been able to favour Los Blancos

Former Bayern Munich midfielder, Arturo Vidal has inadvertently accused La Liga giants, Real Madrid of fixing some of their Champions League matches.
Vidal made the allegation during a recent interview with TNT Argentina, where he argued that the world football governing body, FIFA introduced the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to stop match officials from favoring clubs.
According to the 36-year-old Chile International, Spanish capital club, Real Madrid benefitted from questionable officiating during recent UEFA Champions League games.
He went on to say he believes referees helped them achieve their three-consecutive Champions League success which they achieved in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Vidal, who currently plays for Brazillian club, Club Athletico Paranaense, further said since the introduction of VAR, Los Blancos have not been able to get help from match referees.
Revisiting the victories during the chat, Vidal said: “Real Madrid were favoured by the referee twice in their 3-peat, when they beat Bayern Munich in 2017 and 2018.
“Everyone saw it. I think that’s why they then introduced VAR, they couldn’t fix games like that anymore,”
Real Madrid won the Champions League trophies in 2016, 2017 and 2018, beating Vidal’s former club, Bayern Munich on two of the occasions.
