“My victory is an act of God and I dedicate it to Him. My victory at the apex court of the land, the Supreme Court, is an impetus for more work and more service to the people of Abia State and Nigeria.”
Abia State Governor, Victor Ikpeazu, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made the declaration at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia in his address to residents marking his victory over Alex Otti of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), upheld by the Supreme Court.
“It is the victory of God, the victory of justice, the victory of David over Goliath, and the victory of the masses; but there is no victor and no vanquished.”
He thanked the Supreme Court for giving him the impetus to continue with his revolution of rebuilding Abia, saying he needed to get out of the distraction of legal tussles to focus on service delivery.
Ikpeazu promised that the tempo of infrastructure renewal will be accelerated, and extended an olive branch to political adversaries to sheathe their sword and join him to develop the state.
He also thanked Abians for their support all through the election campaign and the legal battle that stressed everyone, adding that there is now light at the end of the tunnel.
Ikpeazu’s wife, Nkechi, expressed happiness that the PDP has won the Abia governorship at last.
Trust Link Guards and Dogs Managing Director, Cyra Obi, disclosed that the Lord had spoken to Him that Ikpeazu would be governor, and “this has manifested in the Supreme Court.”
He advised Abians and the opposition to join hands with him to develop Abia to another level.
