Veteran actor, Fadeyi Oloro dies at 66

Fadeyi Oloro was famous for his antagonistic roles in Yoruba movies, fans will miss his ever-vibrant recitation of chants and incantations

Popular Nollywood actor, Ojo Arowosafe, better known as Fadeyi Oloro, is dead.

The thespian who acts mainly in Yoruba movies died on Tuesday afternoon after a protracted battle with a kidney-related ailment. He was aged 66.

The movie icon had last month, through his son on an Instagram live session with popular OAP, Daddy Freeze, begged Nigerians for help after the actor was served a six-month eviction notice over unpaid rent

Confirming his death on Tuesday night, actor and comedian, Bayegun Oluwatoyin aka Woli Arole, shared the news via his Instagram page.

He wrote: “So happy I reached out to you sir, so happy we played our part, so happy we laughed together, so happy we were able to show our support. Rest in Peace the Legend ‘Fadeyi Oloro’.

“Let’s check up on people when dey (they) are alive, Let’s show love when people can feel. Let’s help when it can be seen.”

Born September 15, 1957, in Igbara Odo in Ekiti State, Fadeyi Oloro rose to prominence during the 80s and late 90s for his trademarked herbalist character.

He was also famous for his antagonistic roles in Yoruba movies and fans enjoyed his ever-vibrant recitation of chants and incantations.
