Dejumo Lewis was famous for playing the role of Kabiyesi in the popular soap opera ‘The Village Headmaster‘

Veteran Nigerian film and television actor, Dejumo Lewis has passed away at the age of 80.
His demise was confirmed by his Nollywood colleague, Saidi Balogun, who prayed for the repose of his soul on his Instagram page.
Speaking via his social media page, he said: “Good night DEJUMO LEWIS, may your soul rest in perfect peace”

Dejumo Lewis was famous for the Kabiyesi role he played in The Village Headmaster, Nigeria’s longest-running television soap opera shown on NTA from 1968 to 1988 that stared other notable actors such as Justus Esiri, Femi Robinson and many others.
He is also known for his memorable performances in acclaimed films such as “A Place in the Stars” which was released in 2014 and “Crossroads” which premiered in 2020.
He will also be remembered for his roles in some blockbuster Yoruba movies.
Although the cause of the death of the versatile actor is yet to be confirmed, many of his colleagues, politicians and fans have taken to social media to mourn his passage.
