President Muhammadu Buhari has summoned the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, to Aso Rock Villa.
They met on Tuesday in Abuja.
Personal Assistant to President Buhari on Media, Buhari Sallau, disclosed this via twitter where he also shared photos from the meeting.
According to Sallau, “President @MBuhari receives Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma in State House on 23rd Feb 2021.”
TheNiche gathered that the meeting has to do with the supremacy battle raging between Uzodimma and his predecessor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, which climaxed on Sunday with the arrest and brief detention of Okorocha at the Police Headquarters in Owerri.
A Presidency source told TheNiche that Okorocha was let off police hook on Sunday after the presidency intervened.
It was also gathered that not only the president but the All Progressives Congress (APC) hierarchy are worried that if unchecked, the feud may have adverse consequences on the fortunes of the party in the Southeast.
