American music mogul, Sean Combs, better known as Diddy has been arrested in New York.
He was picked up on Monday night by federal agents in a Manhattan hotel, following a grand jury indictment.
Combs has been under mounting scrutiny since a 2023 lawsuit by his former girlfriend, Cassie, accused him of sex trafficking and years of abuse.
Reacting to his arrest, his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, criticized the US Attorney’s Office for pursuing what he considers an unjust prosecution.

The lawyer noted that the singer had voluntarily traveled to New York anticipating the charges.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
“Sean Combs is a music icon, a loving family man, self-made entrepreneur and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire and working to uplift the Black community.
“He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York a week ago in anticipation of these charges.
“These are the acts of an innocent man and he looks forward to clearing his name in court,” Agnifilo said.
