Uriel, who idolises Tiwa Savage, shared a photo from her Nigerian Idol audition years ago and narrated how she was turned down by the judges

Most Nigerians know Uriel Oputa as a former housemate of BBNaija, little did they realise that she once auditioned for ‘Nigerian Idol’ in her bid to make a career in music.
The 34-year-old took to her Instagram page to share a picture of her on the Idol series franchise, telling her fans that she once nurtured the idea of being the next Tiwa Savage.
Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out as planned, as she was turned down by the judges at the auditioning stage.

The BBNaija star went on to say she didn’t give up after the first experience but attended another audition in the year that followed, only to be rejected once again after being given a wild card.
Uriel wrote: “This picture I thought I was going to be the Next TIWA until I heard thank you very much for coming.
“I kept my eyes closed until I reached yard. After I made hot egusi with poundo I drank 2 Fantas bought 1 egg roll without egg. (the missing egg no be my fault, nah onions I see inside).
“Chai, the next audition that year they come give me Wild Card. I refused to go home wetting be wild card biko? Who is wild here ??.
“I refused to go until production attended to me. How can you people give me a wild card ??? I was well behaved. I even wore my Church shoe.
“That shoe can bend someone’s toe… you know the kind of shoe that will make you sweat eh. Ah.
“The kind of shoe that will make you hug fence like fence be your Boyfriend.
That shoe God punish that shoe and its Gold buckle.
“Thank God I gave that shoe to my cousin
The day she wore it she called me and said. “Why now wetin I do you??
“I have suffered in the hands of auditions every week I hear thanks for Coming. One audition I come ask for Travel support. @nigerianidol I need this video.”
Nigerian Idol has released 6 seasons with the following judges in attendance, Jeffrey Daniel (Season1), Yinka Davies (Season1-Season5), Audu Maikori (Season1), Charly Boy (Season2), and Femi Kuti (Season3).
Other judges that have graced the musical show are Naeto C (Season3), Darey (Season4-Season5), Nneka (Season4) Dede Mabiaku (Season4-Season5), Obi Asika (Season6), Seyi Shay (Season6), and DJ Sose (Season6).
