Understanding the social, political behaviour of Hon. Eunice Achimugu in our modern democracy

By Jibrin Isah Egbolo

According to Albert Bandura’s social learning theory, people learn by observing others. It emphasizes the importance of social and intellectual orientation toward the mass management of populations, considering their heterogeneity as well as the psychographic and demographic variables inherent in them.

Hon. Eunice Achimugu is endowed with strong social cognitive attributes, including selective attention, selective retention, selective exposure, selective understanding, selective comprehension, and motivation. These enable her to concentrate on the relevant aspects of observed behaviours.

In politics, self-regulation and self-efficacy are cardinal to the effective management of people. This is how she has endeared herself to the masses.

Democracy is government of the people, by the people, and for the people—a principle that reflects Hon. Eunice Achimugu’s modus operandi as a grassroots politician who brings everyone together in every political opportunity.

Her signature smile while speaking puts every audience at an optimistic level, depicting hope on the horizon. It is clear that Hon. Eunice Achimugu needs adequate support to promote mass participation in politics, no matter whose ox is gored, by truncating negative idiosyncrasies.

Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area is on a progressive ladder, blessed with sons and daughters endowed with universal magnanimity, simplicity, and high intellectual quotient. Examples include Professor Stephen Ocheni, who is known for his simple and cordial behaviour that elicits inclusion across all shades of opinion; Rt. Hon. Ismaila Inah Hussaini, a true democrat and man of compounded ideas with a technocratic agenda for leadership; the Honourable Chairman, Barr. Cosmos Attabo, a forward-looking man who sees life on an equal pedestal; and the incoming chairman, Hon. Ayuba Shaibu, who is naturally not malicious—from our days in education, he has been a man of pure heart, very open, and predictable. The list is endless.

As Marshall McLuhan posited, “The medium is the message.” Once the medium of communication is good, the message will be good. Igalamela-Odolu Local Government is endowed with an aggregate group of highly informed and enlightened people, enabling us to arrive at wise decisions in the comity of development.

Hon. Eunice Achimugu remains a development dictionary among female folks. We need collaboration to see the light of politics in leadership and governance. We must not tear the garment of honour from prominent sons and daughters of Igalamela-Odolu Local Government to avoid ethnic mishaps.

Hon. Jibrin Isah Egbolo, a businessman and political mobiliser, writes from Abuja.
