Udoh, who expressed happiness at the result – the team’s first away victory since he took over the reins of the club – urged the players to put behind them the victory.

“It was a good result, no doubt, and I must confess that I was very happy, but then, the match has come and gone. The players must put the result behind them and focus on the remaining matches, to keep up the tempo and win more matches,” he said.

“It was timely, as it ended our winless run on the road, and so we must sustain the tempo for the task at hand.”

The former Nigeria international and Bridge FC of Lagos boss thanked God for his grace, and his players for their hardwork, determination and team spirit.

Udoh took over the managerial position at the club following the sack of Justin Tenger. He has led the Uyo side to a tentative seventh place finish – the best achieved in recent years at the end of the first half of the season.

He will now turn his attention to plans that will ensure the team comes out better and stronger when the second half of the season resumes, as he aims to uphold the club hierarchy’s mandate of qualifying the team for a continental competition next season.
