The immediate cause of the collapse of the two-storey building is yet to be established.

A two-storey building located at No. 4 Modupeola Street, near Mangoro Bus Stop in the Alimosho area of Lagos State collapsed on Wednesday evening.
The development was confirmed by Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
A footage which later went viral on social media also captured operatives of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, at the site, coordinating rescue operations alongside other first responders.
The incident which occurred around 6 p.m., left one man trapped beneath the rubble while five other occupants were successfully rescued.

The trapped victim, a 44-year-old resident of Olabode Street in Alimosho, was eventually pulled out of the debris with multiple fractures and bruises.
He was later rushed to the Surgical Emergency Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), by officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service.
Briefing journalists after the incident, Omotoso said the victim was admitted in stable condition.
He said, “The five rescued persons were taken to a private hospital within the community. He arrived at LASUTH stable and was immediately placed on further treatment.”
Meanwhile, the state government has ordered a full-scale investigation to ascertain the cause of the collapse and prevent future occurrences.
