Tunji Ojo bags UNIMED SURGE Award, as VC hails his visionary disposition

Tunji Ojo has been commended for his insightful and resolute contributions to his constituency, the country and Ondo state

The Vice-Chancellor of University of Medical Sciences Ondo, Ondo State, (UNIMED), Prof. Adesegun Olayiwola Fatusi has described Member House of Representatives, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo (BTO) representing Akoko North West/ Akoko North-East Federal Constituency as Pathfinder and visionary leader with notable examples to upcoming politicians.

Olubunmi Tunji Ojo has also commended for his insightful and resolute contributions to his constituency, the country and Ondo state as he bagged the “SURGE” Hero Award of UNIMED.

The award presentation took place at the joint 2nd and 3rd Convocation ceremony of the Institution at the University Auditorium.

“SURGE” which means Support for UNIMED’s Renaissance, Growth and Expansion is in recognition of Hon. Dr Bunmi Tunji Ojo’s outstanding contributions to the expansion, growth and development of the University.”

After the brief citation of Dr Bunmi Tunji Ojo was read, Hon. Evang. Olumuyiwa Asagunla, The Odofin Ogboye of Afa Okeagbe Land mounted the podium to receive the award on behalf of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

The Vice-Chancellor said, ‘Tunji Ojo is a catalyst to the growth and development of the institution as well as human development both in his constituency and outside.

Fatusi also commended Tunjo Ojo (BTO) for his sparkling touches in Akoko North West and North East federal constituency, saying “though am not from the local government but I have friends there.

“On behalf of the great institution I say a big thanks to you and pray for more upliftment in your careers, I also hope to have more of you in UNIMED.

In his address, the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu congratulated the graduands and urge them to be committed to their various services learnt from the institution.

He further advised them to let the school pass through them just as they have passed through the school and he pray for productivity in their various fields.

Akeredolu appreciated Hon Tunji Ojo for his resourceful ideology in helping to buffer the growth of the institution.

The Governor further described Tunjo Ojo as a forefront master builder whose innovative styles cannot be overemphasized.

Hon. Evang. Olumuyiwa Asagunla, the Odofin Ogboye of Afa Okeagbe who represented Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo commends the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Adesegun Olayiwola Fatusi and his entire management team.

He said Olubunmi Tunji Ojo would always be part of the school development.

Asagunla however commended the immediate past Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko for inventing the institution and also Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for funding, resourcing and overall development of the University.

He, therefore, congratulated all the graduating students and charge them to be focused and persevere in all they do.

Other eminent personalities at the occasion include former Governor of the state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, Hon. Chief Mrs Adebunmi Juliana Osadahun, Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde, Hon. Olusegun Felemu, H.R.M OBA Dr. Victor Adesinmbo, Osemowe of Ondo, Hon. Donald Ojogo, Hon. Muyiwa Eyitayo and many others.

Hon. Olubunmi Tunji- Ojo was honoured alongside prominent personalities which include- Chief Oludolapo Akinkugbe (OON, CFR), Prof. Tolu Olukayode (MBBS, PhD, MD, FMCpath, FWACP, FAS, OON, NNOM), Hon. Dr Abiola Makinde, Honourable Representing Ondo West/ East Federal Constituency.
