-

Veteran filmmaker, Tunde Kelani, has said that Maami would be his last film release in Nigeria. He made this known in a press statement upon the ripping of the film barely 24 hours after the release on DVD of the box office hit.

Inserted in loose jackets, the pirated copies are selling on major streets in state capitals across Nigeria.

Maami was released to DVD on Monday. “In the last 10 years, I have tried everything to survive the attacks. I have relied on donors and well- wishers to continue to make films but each time I lose all the investments, therefore I cannot continue to live the rest of my life in this dangerous place called Nigeria,” Kelani said in the release.

He expressed joy that his children are interested in other endeavours because “theyhave witnessed all the insecurities and uncertainties in the film industry and I don't blame them for looking at other careers for development”.

The original copy marketed by Ajimson Integrated Services Limited, mastered on DVD, contained in a jewel box and laminated.
