Rangnick who helped Tuchel take his first step into coaching back in 2000 when he appointed him as one of the youth team coaches at Stuttgart, also managed him as played at SSV Ulm in the late 1990s.

The 63-year-old Ragnick was appointed as Man United’s interim manager for six months following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November 2021.

The Chelsea coach also depicted his former boss’s stay at Old Trafford as a lifelong dream because of the status of United in the world

When asked if he feels sorry for his former boss, Tuche said, “Not too much! He is a coach at Manchester United.

“Maybe it does not work out at this moment, in terms of the points and how he wished for it and, maybe, how he deserves it, but I don’t feel sorry because it is a huge job and they are a huge club.

“He is in this position and I think it was a lifelong dream for him to work in the Premier League and work for one of the biggest clubs in the world. It is more of an upside than a downside.”

Meanwhile, Ralf Rangnick has said he will discuss Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club with Uniteds’ new manager, Erik ten Hag when he arrives.

He made the comment after the game against Chelsea on Thursday, where he admitted that the future of Ronaldo, 37, remains up in the air.

“We will have to speak about it between us; with Erik [ten Hag], myself, and the board.

“Cristiano has another year of contract and it’s also important to see and find out what Cristiano wants to do and see if he wants to stay.

“I haven’t been able to speak with Erik so far and it doesn’t make sense to speak about it [Ronaldo’ future] right now,” Rangnick said.
