United States President, Donald Trump has expressed gratitude to the Muslim community in his country for backing his re-election bid and voting for him “in record numbers.”
He made his feelings known on Thursday when he hosted faith leaders and diplomats at an iftar dinner in the White House.
In attendance were Saudi Arabia’s ambassador Reema Bandar Al-Saud, Morocco’s ambassador Youssef Amrani, Pakistani ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, and UAE ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba, among others.
While thanking Muslims across America, Trump said, “I want to extend a very special thanks to the hundreds of thousands of Muslim Americans who supported us in record numbers in the 2024 presidential election.
“It was incredible. We started a little slow with you, but we came along.”
