Tragedy struck Wednesday morning in Minna, the Niger State capital, when a truck belonging to Coca-Cola Bottling Company crushed to death a motorcyclist who was earlier hit by a commercial tricyclist along Bosso-Mobil roundabout link road in front of Jolly Bread, old Bata shop.
Eyewitness said that the deceased whose name was given as Usman, was riding along the speed lane before he was hit by the tricyclist before the oncoming truck crushed him.
The death of Usman, who was said to have returned from the burial of his son inlaw few days ago, caused heavy traffic on the busy road.
Our correspondent also gathered from family members at the scene of the accident that the man (Usman) was from Edati Local Government Area, and had only last Monday lost his son in-law, a soldier, in the ongoing war against insurgents in Maiduguri, North-East Nigeria.
The deceased, it was gathered, was to travel to Kaduna within the week to meet his daughter after the death of her husband (a soldier) before his death.
The late Usman’s body was later conveyed to his elder brother’s house at Mechanic village, Ketaren-Gwari where it was later interred at about 2:30pm.
