Tribute to journalistic daring: TheNiche on Sunday

-

I have browsed through some handsome editions of TheNiche graciously dropped for me by one of the founding minds of this daring enterprise. I was fully satisfied with its ingenious style and relevance of message offered in international style presentation of news, socio-political and economic events with unusual inventiveness.

I have met a few of the corps of pilots of the endeavour to bring balanced news and current affairs reporting to all Nigerians in exemplary candour, at various events ranging from social joints showing their responsibility to their people, to media hot spots when genuine concerns for Project Nigeria were frankly contemplated. Gems all, the team provides me hope of a new Nigeria anchored on sense of duty and commitment to the general good of all, irrespective of place of origin in the Nigerian cosmogony and evolution.

I was not to be at the event of presentation of this humungous effort to Nigeria’s discerning public in physical form; I was certainly there in spirit. I share the inclination to perfection in the written word which the effort to put out a Sunday newspaper with an alluring array of subjects matter represents. It is not only for the fact that I am a contributor that I do the effort this honour; it is for the hope it portends for reinventing Nigeria through a detribalised and resolute attention to truth and striving for perfection which the paper has cooked and promises to serve in all its pages.

I am aware that the founders are stretched to breaking point in outlays to the effort and crave support from all the four winds to keep this noble boat sailing securely to a better Nigeria for the sake of truth and a stainless future for all Nigerians. For me, striving for truth is an earthly mission that must be accomplished howbeit with some serious battle against sloth and recidivism which afflicted the Nigerian psyche through, at least, four decades of floundering for undue self-interest. The nation’s future can only be served through competition from all parts to give of their best to current and subsequent humanity.

Those who find profit in idleness loaded with high taste may keep their distance from this paper. It is meant for productive specie of humanity, who desire result from genuine exertions to better the common lot of all Nigerians into the far future, with steel will to serve in a cooperative idiom. It is a unique call for continuum of positive change to the Nigerian vision based on high social responsibility for partakers in common heritage and its outcrops. May the diligent hoe never know hunger, even in famine!

Through this medium, I urge all those who will find time and other resources to give full support to this endeavour by contributing generously to its life and continuity for the greater glory of Nigeria. I will continue to drop Indelible Marks into the inexorable and healing hands of truth exemplified by the journalistic programme easily discernible from the pages of this tabloid.

It is true that internet has afflicted tabloids adversely in recent times. However distressed tabloids may have become, the human element in its elasticity and ingenuity cannot but ensure that only diligence provides sustenance to survivors of the avalanche in the end. Creativity provides inexorable resilience under economic stresses. The best must survive to tell the story of effective competition.

May all those like the team at Acclaim Publications find solace in the joy they bring to human spirits by offering the best in print in national balance so far among existing tabloids, in its indisputably sanguine mode of presentation! May your days be long, productive to the national psyche and joyful to you and your families as well to the slowly evolving Nigerian nation state!
