A fireball caused by the explosion of a loaded petrol tanker has resulted in the death of at least 16 people in Jebba, Kwara state.
Th incident, according to eye witnesses, was triggered by the loss of control of the tanker at Gaika area in Jebba, and then rammed into buildings, resulting in the explosion.
Jebba is in Moro local government area of Kwara state.
According to a report by the Vanguard Newspaper, at least sixteen persons died while no fewer than thirty buildings and properties worth millions of naira destroyed.

The newspaper said the incident which occurred at about 9 am, led to the spillage of petrol which inflamed the entire area of the spill.
