According to Ohiri, she had no direct dealings with the construction company, Nella Engineers, and the minister did not invite her to Ebonyi State.

She also denied accusing Umahi of “tying a wrapper” while visiting her hotel room, stressing that she was “quoted out of context”.

She further claimed that after consulting with her family, she has decided to put the events of the past week behind her and seek peace.

”I never said David Umahi tied a wrapper to meet me in a hotel room. After proper consultation with my family and a painstaking review of the events of last week, I have come to the conclusion that it’s important that we give peace a chance.

“I apologise to Minister Umahi for the embarrassment this allegation may have caused him and his family,” she added.
