Ever been in crammed bus with at least 18 passengers? You can bet it not a pleasant experience. If you are a person with a deep pocket, you would prefer going alone or going with fewer people.

launched in Nigeria in 2015 by Bolarinwa Motoni, is one of the relatively known ride-hailing companies competing for a share in the burgeoning industry in Nigeria.

You can only use Jekalo if you’re going same route as the driver. It is only available in Lagos.

GoMyWay

Also launched in 2015 by some Nigerian tech nerds and partly owned by e-commerce company, Konga, and Sim Shagaya, GoMyWay functions same way as Jekalo, which is only available if the rider is going same route as the driver.

Smart Ride

The app, though relatively new, is also taking its chunk of the market size. Launched in 2017, Smart Ride allows you to schedule your ride with a preferred driver. This means you can differ your trip to a later date not exceeding three days.

Oga Taxy

Meaning Taxi boss, Oga Taxy came into Nigeria in 2016 to rousing welcome and has since been making inroads in the industry.

Taxify

One of the heavyweights in the industry in Nigeria, Taxify has carved a niche for itself in the transport business in Nigeria.

Following series of complaints from both riders and drivers, Taxify has introduced a rating system where riders and drivers can rate each to avoid untoward behaviours.

Uber

Considered a global leader in the industry, Uber’s foray into the Nigerian market was greeted with a lot of enthusiasm. One of the most seamless operators in the industry, Uber is on the lips of almost everyone in country.

Like Taxify, Uber also has a rating system to curtail abuses by both rider and driver.

So, when starting out on that elegant and classy outing, these ride hailing apps are at your beck and call.
