TJ Sax: Why I support cancer foundation

T.J Emore, popularly known as TJ Sax, has said that he is supporting children living with cancer because he is happy to be alive. “I am supporting these children because I am happy to be alive, and I want to help others stay alive and live cancer-free. They are children like me and I think they deserve the best,” he told TheNiche.

The teen saxophonist has shown that age does not matter when it comes to giving back to society. He has given his support to the Children Living with Cancer Foundation which held the “Heart of Hope Walkathon” on September 19 from Dowen College, Lekki Phase 1 through Lekki Phase 1 GTB Gate Oniru, back to Lekki Phase 1.

The event was aimed at making a difference in the lives of children with cancer and to solicit support. Attendees were given free T-shirts at the venue of the informative, entertaining and educating show.

 

Born on November 24, 2001 in Lagos Nigeria, he has played at the Aso Villa in Abuja in 2011 at the First Lady’s Children’s Day party where he thrilled the wife of the president and her guests with an awesome performance and rendition of the national anthem.

T.J has also played in various churches, at corporate events like the Mutual Benefits annual thanksgiving, charity homes and orphanages.

 

He released an album in 2011, which consists of the tracks ‘Forever Young’ (original by Jay-Z), ‘He Lives in Me’ (original by Diana Ross), a sax medley and a host of other songs. The teenage saxophonist has performed alongside artistes like MI, Sasha P, Mode 9, Rock Steady, Dammy Krane, Solidstar, Vector, Sound Sultan and 2face Idibia.

 

T.J has proven to be one of the sought-after young acts in Nigeria.

 

Children Living with Cancer Foundation (CLWCF) is a non-profit charity organisation dedicated to the care and welfare of children with cancers and their families, in conjunction with the Oncology ward of the Paediatrics Department of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba.
