Tiwa Savage eulogises late dad on his birthday

Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage remembered her late dad on his birthday, just a day after the singer clocked 42

Popular singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, on Sunday celebrated her late father on his birthday on her social media platform.

The mother of one shared a picture of herself and her father via her Instagram story while remembering him on his first posthumous birthday.

The 42-year-old singer announced the death of her father in 2021 and elaborately buried him, on September 3, 2021, shortly after the release of her Extended Play project ‘Water and Garri’.

The award-winning singer said last year that she suspended her 2021 music tour till this year in honour of her late father. 

She said, “I was originally supposed to go on tour this year but everything was brought back. As some of you guys know, I lost my father. So I had to, understandably, push my tour.

“So my tour will be next year. You guys make sure you come out. I’m telling you, there’s no experience like when you see me and my team and my band. The things we have planned on the tour are incredible,” Savage said in October 2021.

In her post on Sunday night, the talented artist wished her father a happy birthday, stating that she loves and misses him greatly. 

“Today is the first time you are not here on your birthday. Happy birthday King. I love you and I miss you. Keep resting in perfect peace. Savy t’eko,” Tiwa wrote.

Tiwa Savage a day before the post, celebrated her own 42nd birthday in style, as she threw a bash for her friends, family, and fellow celebrities.
