Tinubu’s embarrassing incoherence, there are people more capable than him, PDP says

Bola Tinubu lacks mental fitness to be the President of Nigeria, an embarrassment for the most populous country in Africa brimming with brilliant and competent hands, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) insists in its latest swipe at him.

PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation (PCO) spokesman Charles Aniagwu said the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate is being foisted on Nigerians for selfish reasons and urged them to reject him because he lacks the capacity to articulate issues.

“Tinubu’s many gaffes in recent times buttress the argument that he lacks the alertness to lead a county in troubled times.

“His inability to carry on his campaigns seamlessly is a pointer to the fact that he is being managed, and that is not the kind of leader Nigerians deserve at this time,” Aniagwu told The Guardian.

He acknowledged Tinubu was once a great leader whose contributions to nation-building could not be wished away but argued the man to take a rest.

“A situation where a presidential candidate cannot speak coherently for only two minutes calls for serious concern.

“That is why we can hardly hear from our brother, Festus Keyamo, again because the kind of things he defends is already becoming an embarrassment to the legal profession.”

He said the abrupt departure of Tinubu from his Minna rally last week shows all is not well with him.

Exaggerating Lagos

“I am happy that President Muhammadu Buhari is not following them about in this campaign because he saw that the APC Governors did not see what he saw prior to the party primary when they stopped Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, a man that has demonstrated great intellectualism, from clinching the party’s ticket,” Aniagwu said, per The Guardian.

Having realised they have failed Nigerians, he added, APC members lay claim to Lagos as part of their achievements even as Lagos was built over time by the federal authorities.

“Each time you ask them to give account of their party’s stewardship, they refer you to Lagos that was built by the federal government as a former federal capital. Is it the Lagos that you will spend five hours on journey which should not take not more than 30 minutes?

“They talk about the Lagos economy and I ask who collects the tax, and does the tax reflect in the lives of the citizens? A Lagos that Nasir el-Rufai, an APC Governor, has amply described as a living hell?

“These people don’t believe that Nigeria should get out of the cocoon. So, I appeal to Nigerians to reject the APC and all what it represents.”
