President Bola Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, has claimed that the economic reforms embarked upon by the Nigerian government led to the decision of Chinese companies to accept Naira cards during business transactions.
He made this known on Tuesday in a post he shared on his official X page.
In the message, he noted that the development indicates that the US dollar is no longer the ultimate king.
Onanuga, however, added that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition leaders, Atiku Abubakar, El-Rufai, and Peter Obi will not celebrate the laudable feat.
Speaking on his verified social media handle, he wrote: “This is a salutary development for the Nigerian economy. The Tinubu reforms are making foreigners have faith in the Naira.
“The Almighty US dollar is not the ultimate king here. The Naira is waxing stronger as an international means of exchange. I also buy some items on Chinese platforms.
“I can confirm that they accept Naira cards. El-Rufai, veteran runner Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi will never celebrate this development.
“They are waiting for disasters to vent their political frustration on President Tinubu.”
