Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, has assured Nigerians planning to demonstrate between August 1 to 10, that the federal government is not planning to clamp down on them, saying nobody can stop the citizens from protesting.

He made this known recently during an interview on a TVC programme, Politics on Sunday with Femi Akande, while addressing concerns about the Tinubu government’s stance on the planned protests.

Speaking during the chat, Ngelale said, “Let me be clear: we are not in office to dominate our people; we are here to serve them.”

He went on to insist that the Tinubu-led  administration does not have “the authority” to deny Nigerians their rights  to demonstrate peacefully.

“No one in our administration has the authority to deny Nigerians their right to peaceful protest,” Ngelale added.
