President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has claimed that former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is yet to recover from his painful defeat in the 2023 election.
He made the claim on Wednesday, while reacting to Obi’s latest interview where he lambasted Tinubu’s administration.
Obi while featuring on the TV programme mocked Tinubu over the current hardship in Nigeria.
He said Tinubu is doing what he promised Nigerians during his electioneering campaign which was to continue where former president Muhammadu Buhari stopped.
The former Anambra State governor also recalled that the exchange rate increased from N400 to N1,500 per dollar under Tinubu.
Obi further alleged that Nigeria is not practicing “democracy”.
He went on to say people with criminal records, unverified and forged school certificates are in charge of the country
He, however, stated that a competent leader can turn the tides around for Nigerians.
Reacting to the remarks, Bwala accused Obi of struggling to play the opposition because he failed in his delivery.
Speaking via his X page, the media aide added that Nigeria dodged a bullet by not electing Obi.
Bwala tweeted, “As I listen to @PeterObi this evening struggling to play the opposition (oppose the government) I can’t but shudder at his abysmal delivery.
“He was speaking devoid of facts, logical analysis and almost sounded like a tinkling cymbal or a sounding brass.
“Mr Gregory has still not recovered from the painful defeat of the 2023 polls. But I can understand his confusion because as it stands today, he seem deserted in the banana republic of fantasy, wondering how he will convince his followers about his agreement to play a second fiddle in the 2027 wild goose chase of the opposition Nigeria dodged a bullet.”
