Akeredolu, in a tacit reaction to Babachir Lawal scathing rebuke of Muslim Muslim ticket, urges Nigerians not to be scared, saying the buck stops on the desk of the president.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Wednesday, called on Nigerians to vote for competence, adding that the faith of the Vice President does not affect performance in any government.
Akeredolu, who expressed confidence that the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will rescue the nation, noted that the work stops on the President’s table.
“Muslim-Muslim ticket has nothing to do with performance. Let’s vote for someone that can do something. The work stops at the table of the President. It is the President that you are voting for. He decides what happens. Whether it’s a Muslim/Muslim or Christian/Christian, it should not matter to us in the South because we fought for this.

“I have no doubt that given the opportunity, from what he has done in Lagos, Asiwaju Tinubu will turn things around for the better, ”he said.
Akeredolu was reacting to the opposition against the choice of Kashim Shettima as Tinubu’s running mate, which the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal describe as a satanic ticket.
Lawal warned that the Muslim-Muslim ticket of Tinubu is the beginning of the formation of the Islamic Republic of Nigeria.
Babachir had been a staunch supporter of Tinubu’s presidential bid until the announcement of Kashim Shettima, a fellow Muslim as Tinubu’s running mate.
Babachir, a Christian from Adamawa, blamed Tinubu’s new friends, chief among them the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje for selling the Muslim-Muslim ticket to Tinubu on the falsehood that without it, he wouldn’t win the presidential election. But Babachir said Ganduje’s real motive is the Islamization of Nigeria, for which he has started with a website dedicated to the conversion of Christians to Islam.
Babachir said in the hay days of Tinubu as Governor of Lagos State when he surrounded himself with tacticians like Babatunde Fashola, Rauf Aregbesola, Wale Alake and Yemi Osinbajo, he wouldn’t have made the blunder of picking a fellow Muslim as his running mate.
Babachir pointed out: ” Now tell me which Christian will vote for APC with the following contraption: Moslem Presidential Candidate (Lagos), Moslem Vice Presidential Candidate (Borno), Moslem National Chairman (Nasarawa), Moslem Deputy National Chairman (Borno), Moslem President (Katsina); Moslem Senate President (Yobe); Moslem Speaker (Lagos); Moslem Deputy Speaker (Plateau) e.t.c. APC the great! Wu na de try woh,” Babachir said.
Babachir warned Tinubu to be wary of Kashim Shettima, a double face schemer that can not be trusted.
