President Bola Tinubu is set to attend the inauguration of Senegal’s president-elect, Bassirou Faye, as substantive president in Dakar on Tuesday at the invitation of the West African country.
His spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, stated on Monday in Abuja that the president would leave Abuja for Dakar, capital of Senegal, on Tuesday.
Tinubu, chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Governments, will join other regional leaders at the event.
He will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior government officials.

The president is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the inauguration, Ngelale stated.
Faye, 44, will be inaugurated to replace Macky Sall, who ruled the West African nation for 12 years.
He will be the fifth president of Senegal.
Faye – an anti-establishment candidate and ally of popular opposition figure Ousmane Sonko – won more than 54 percent of votes cast in the delayed presidential poll.
His closest competitor in the polls, ruling coalition candidate Amadou Ba who was handpicked by outgoing President Sall, took about 35 percent of the vote.
