Bola Tinubu will simultaneously launch his manifesto and campaign on Friday, 11 days after Atiku Abubakar did his in Uyo, and four days to the day Peter Obi says he will hit the ground running on 25 October.

Muhammadu Buhari will launch in the Villa in Abuja both the manifesto and the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on which platform Tinubu is running along with Kashim Shettima as his tag team mate.

“Buhari, in his capacity as the Chairman [of the PCC], will inaugurate the PCC and unveil the policy document of Tinubu.

“There are also strong indications that the choice of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, which was earlier chosen as the official venue for the campaign kick-off, will give way to a new one,” a source in Aso Rock told The PUNCH.

“For now, I can say all the grey areas causing disaffection among the APC National Working Committee [NWC] and the Governors have been taken care of in the newly harmonised campaign council list.”

Bola Onanuga, Director of Media and Publicity for the Tinubu-Shettima PCC confirmed to the newspaper the launch will he held on Friday.

But he declined comment on the venue and names on the new list of PCC members.

Tinubu on 14 October unveiled a PCC comprising 422 members drawn from the class of political heavyweights to pilot various sub-committees.

Tinubu aligns himself with Buhari

Tinubu, former Lagos Governor, aligned himself with Buhari on Tuesday, saying most of his achievements in his seven years in the Villa are not appreciated by Nigerians, per The PUNCH.

He made the point in a goodwill message he delivered at the Ministerial Retreat for Ministers and Permanent Secretaries in Abuja.

He said Nigerians should understand that Buhari inherited in 2015 the baggage of  national problems ranging from insecurity to corruption from former President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
