Tinubu leads Atiku in Sokoto

Tinubu leads Atiku in state governed by PDP’s Tambuwal

Bola Tinubu is leading the vote count in Sokoto to try reverse his trouncing by Atiku Abubakar in Muhammadu Buhari’s neighbouring Katsina.

Sokoto is governed by Aminu Tambuwal who belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), of which Atiku is the presidential candidate.

Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) is currently third in the North Western state. Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi is  fourth.

Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has won most votes in 10 of the 23 councils so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Tinubu got 101,608 votes, Atiku (98,080), Kwankwaso (314), and  Obi (171), per reporting by Vanguard.
