President Bola Tinubu on Friday congratulated ace Afrobeats singer,  Innocent Idibia popularly known as   2Baba, who recently marked his 50th birthday.

The President joined millions of fans across Nigeria to celebrate the music icon in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Speaking via the message titled ‘President Tinubu Celebrates Music Icon Innocent ‘2face’ Idibia On 50th Birthday’, Tinubu praised 2Baba’s two-decade career as a symbol of resilience, creativity and national pride.

“For more than 20 years, 2Baba serenaded us with soulful melodies, inspired generations, and carried the Nigerian flag with pride worldwide,” the president said.

He added that Idibia’s legendary song, African Queen, “remains an evergreen classic that introduced the beauty of African music to the world, placing Nigeria at the heart of the global entertainment map.”

President Tinubu went on to laud the singer for his patriotism and commitment to championing peace, unity, and good governance.

He also prayed for “greater joy, fulfilment, and good health” in the years ahead for the iconic singer.

2Baba, who rose to prominence as a member of the Plantashun Boiz group before launching a successful solo career, is regarded as one of Africa’s most influential artists, with a career spanning over two decades and numerous awards to his credit.
