TheNiche beats seven others to win marketing award

-

TheNiche has begun winning awards, just six months after its debut on April 20 to fill the gap and raise the bar in the Sunday newspaper market.

On October 11, it emerged the overall winner of the Advertisers’ Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) Marketing Excellence Award in Brand Journalist of the Year category.

The prize was won by an employee, Goddie Ofose, who breasted the tape in a competition involving seven other publications – The Nation, The Guardian, Hallmark, ThisDay, The Union, and Mediacraftonline.

Ofose, who is Brand Journalsts’ Association of Nigeria National Chairman, has spent nine years in journalism, during which period he garnered several awards.

He brought his knowledge of integrated marketing communication (IMC) to TheNiche and put it on the A-list in brands and marketing reportage.

Ofose’s winning entry, “Corporations’ payment policy threatens survival of agencies,” was published in TheNiche on August 10, 2014.

TheNiche has also been nominated for the “Best Marketing Reporting Newspaper of the Year” for excellence in brand coverage, being organised by Marketing World magazine.

The event holds at Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos on November 7.

A letter written by Marketing World publisher, Akin Naphtal, said “as the unrivalled badge of excellence for marketing sector, these prestigious awards demonstrate and celebrate the advances made in the key areas of digital, experimental, media, stewardship, efficiency, innovation, corporate social responsibility and creativity’ and the paper is nominated based on all of the criteria and more.”

Acclaim Communications Limited, publishers of TheNiche, said the newspaper is poised to redefine journalism.
