Terrorists kill three, abduct worshippers in Kwara church
Gunmen killed three worshippers and abducted several others, including a pastor, during an attack on the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, on Tuesday.
Video footage of the incident captures the moment the assailants invaded the midweek service and opened fire, causing chaos as congregants scrambled for safety.
“The gunmen came in suddenly and started shooting. Three people were killed instantly,” a witness revealed. “They gathered others at gunpoint and marched them into the bush. We still don’t know the exact number taken.”
The attackers reportedly escaped through bush paths connecting Eruku to neighbouring communities.
Prior to the church invasion, the gunmen launched a coordinated assault in the wider Eruku area, forcing travellers to abandon their vehicles on the road and flee into the bush for safety.
