Terrence J, Osas Ighodaro to host 2023 Headies Awards

Terrence J, an American, was the host of BET’s popular music video countdown show 106 & Park

American actor, TV presenter and model Terrence Jenkins better known as Terrence J and Nollywood actress, Osas Ighodaro have been named by Smooth Promotions, the organisers of the Headies Awards as the anchors of the show this year.   

This is as the 16th edition of the award is set to be held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, USA, on Sunday, September 3.

Another successful outing of the event this year will mean this is the second time the music award has been held outside the shores of Nigeria.

Headies Awards took place at the same venue last year when the 15th edition was held for the first time outside the country. 

TheNiche had earlier reported that Burna Boy led the nominations for this year’s event with 10 nominations, including African Artiste of the Year, Best Afrobeats Album, Best Male Artiste and Song of the Year categories. 

Performing at the ceremony are Nigerian artistes such as Asake, Fireboy DML, Ayra Starr, Oxlade, Johnny Drille, Blaqbonez, Spyro, Seyi Vibez, KCee and Victony.

Terrence J, a popular American entertainment reporter was the host of BET’s popular music video countdown show 106 & Park from 2006 until 2012 and he also co-anchored E! News from 2012 until 2015. 

Osas Ighodaro on the other hand, is a Nigerian-American thespian, producer, TV host and humanitarian. She won the Miss Black USA Pageant in 2010 and founded the Joyful Joy Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds to fight malaria.
