American songwriter/singer Taylor Swift, 34, is now the official richest female musician in the world, with a networth of $1.6 billion, surpassing Rihanna worth N1.4 billion, a difference of $200 million.

Forbes estimates that Swift, who clinched billionaire status in October 2023,  increased her purse on the success if Eras Tour, making her the first female in the billionaire league mainly from her songs and music performances.

Barbadian Rihanna (Robyn Rihanna Fenty), 36, made her own fortunes from songs and other businesses, including fashion and beauty lines.

Swift holds the record for the largest tour gross ever – $2 billion for 125 shows, or approximately $16 million per show.

Forbes reports her increase also comes from her catalog valued at $600 million, additional $600 million in royalties, and about $125 million in real estate from her multiple homes across the United States.

Yahoo Entertainment adds that Swift’s wealth puts her at number 2,117 on Forbes list of the world’s billionaires, ahead of such fellow female icons as

  • Rihanna ($1.4 billion)
  • Madonna ($850 million)
  • Beyoncé ($760 million)
  • Celine Dion ($550 million)
  • Barbra Streisand ($460 million)
  • Dolly Parton ($450 million)

Rihanna, in fact, is now just behind Swift (at number 2,336 on the Forbes world list), with a mega-fortune thanks mainly to the success of her Fenty Beauty line and Savage x Fenty lingerie.

At one point Rihanna held the title of the richest female musician of all-time when her net worth peaked at $1.7 billion.

With her new Forbes high, Swift ranks number 2 on the list of richest musicians (male and female), trailing top dog, Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z ($2.5 billion).

Swift is currently on a break as she gears up for the final run of Eras Tour shows, which resume on October 18 with a show in Miami at Hard Rock Stadium.
