SWEEP Foundation drags youths to Lagos Beach for recreation

Ambassador Obuesi of SWEEP foundation extolled the Lagos State Waste management Authority on its efforts in maintaining and managing waste in the state.

Sequel to the commemoration of United Nations Youth day, Sweep Foundation organized a seaside recreation, tagged Eko beach race for young athletes in Lagos.

Speaking after flagging off the race, the host of the foundation, Ambassador Philip Obuesi, said every Youth in the State need recreation for strength, growth and mental development.


SWEEP foundation which craves for cleaner Lagos insisted that through sports, a lot could be done in sensitising Lagosians and indeed Nigerians in imbibing the habit of living in a cleaner environment and to cultivate good attitude to waste management.


Obuesi however extolled the Lagos State Waste management Authority on its efforts in maintaining and managing waste in the state.

The Executive Director and CEO of Lagos State Waste Management Authority Ibrahim Adejuwon Odumboni was on hand to present prices to deserving runners and praise the Youth for turning up for the awareness being created for a clearer Lagos.


He announced a cash price of M50.000 for male and female winners with a trophy, N30.000 and N20.000 for second and third placed runners respectively.


Prices were also won by all that participated in the 10km Eko beach race.


Over 30 youths participated as capacity crowed watched the race.
