Super Falcons to win $.5m, WAFCON trophy if victorious in Morocco

Twelve qualified teams including Nigeria’s Super Falcons are already in Morocco for the continent biggest women soccer fiesta.

The African soccer governing body, Confederation of African Football (CAF), has revealed the price money for the winner of the tournament will be 500,000 US Dollars.


After missing the 2020 edition of the competition due to the outbreak of coronavirus, the biennial tournament will commence today Saturday, July 2.

The football body announced that the eventual winner will go home with a whopping sum of $.5 million and the trophy.


Super Falcons who won the last edition got $200,000 for their efforts in 2018 and CAF under Patrice Motsepe has decided to increase the money in order to motivate the players.
