Former Flying Eagles coach, John Obuh, said he was optimistic the Super Eagles could win their Africa Nations cup qualifying match against Sudan this weekend.
Eagles will play an away match against Sudan on Oct. 10.
Obuh, the coach of Rangers FC of Enugu, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt on Tuesday that with enough motivation and team work the Eagles would win the match.
“I believe the players and officials know what is at stake.
“I am also happy that the Nigeria Football Association has settled down after the election, so efforts will be geared toward winning the match,’’ he said.
Obuh said that the Eagles had the potential to win and urged the team to work extra hard to get the three points at stake.
“I still believe that there is nothing impossible as far as the Super Eagles are concerned because, most times, we always come in from a difficult terrain and then we see ourselves through.
“We want to believe that such will also be our portion this time. But, all of us really have to work together.
“The Football Association, and the technical crew with the players really have to work together to achieve this feat,’’ the coach said.
On the NFA election, Obuh called on all stakeholders to support the Amaju Pinnick-led board to move the nation’s football forward.
