GLOBE Nigeria Virtual Science Symposium Workshop is designed to inculcate green environment consciousness in pupils and students at tender age

The Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has restated its resolve to continue to encourage and support pupils and their schools to participate in any event or competition in order to sharpen their skills and bring the best out of them.
The Chairman of the Board, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan promised during the presentation of the certificate and trophy won recently by Caring Heart Mega School, Supare in Akoko South West Local Government Area by Master Adebayo at a national event at Keffi Nasarawa State.
At the event of GLOBE Nigeria Virtual Science Symposium and Workshop, Master Adebayo Bolanle represented Ondo State and came third in the Basic Education Category.
In a statement issued and signed by Prince Bolu Diesel Ajijo, Director of Press in Akure, the Ondo State capital, said the elated Chairman of the Board will give the outstanding pupil Fifty Thousand Naira as a token of appreciation for a job well done. He specifically commended the roles played by the Department of Social Mobilization for making the trip to the competition and the feat possible.

“This is the result of hard work and dedication to duty and that of testing the system. If the pupils are not well trained and the school participated there is no way we would have known their ability and win the laurel.”
He, therefore, urged all departments especially School Services to ensure the schools and pupils participate in all competitions promising that the Board under his watch will always give the necessary support to ensure attendance because the pupils are the focal point of the Board’s activities.
While commending the Globe Teacher, Mr Akinola Samuel Olajide that trained the pupil for the competition, the Chairman attributed it to resilience and dedication to duty. He said the teacher has become a role model and a good example to others.
Speaking on the benefits of resilience to duty and hard work, the Chairmen who was a trained teacher and a School Principal before venturing into politics, said there is no shortcut or miracle to success than hard work.
Olabimtan promised to formally inform the Governor of the feat so that the pupil, the School and all that have contributed to the success story get appropriate recognition from the State in order to spur them and their contemporaries to work harder and be good ambassadors of the State
Earlier, the Director of Social Mobilization, Julius Adebayo recounted the challenges the Department went through on behalf of the Board to ensure the School participated in the competition. He said the competition was designed to inculcate in the pupils the concept of a green environment from childhood.
According to him, this was the first time the Board will enter into this Competition and it came third in the Basic Education Category and first and second respectively in the Senior Secondary Category under the supervision of the Ministry of Education.
In her vote of thanks, the Headteacher of the School, Mrs Owagbemi A.B appreciated the Board for hosting the School, promising that this will spur the school to work harder to maintain the existing standard.
The Hallmark of the event was the presentation of the Certificate, Trophy and Laptop won by the School to the Board.
Also, at the presentation are the Ondo State Globe Coordinator, Mr Ademola Adenekan and the Assistant Teacher of the school.
