Manchester boss, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that England defender, John Stones, will not be available until after the September international break after picking up an injury.
The injury blow is coming less than a few days after Belgium playmaker Kevin de Bruyne sustained a recurring hamstring injury that will keep him out of action for the next few months.
Stones, before now, had missed the Citizens’ last three games due to a hip injury, and Guardiola has now confirmed that the Englishman will be absent for league games against Sheffield United and Fulham.

The 27-year-old Three Lions centre-back is also expected to miss England’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine in Wroclaw, Poland and a friendly against Scotland at Hampden Park.
Speaking at his post-match interview after Man City’s 1-0 win against Newcastle over the weekend, Guardiola said: “John will be ready after the international break,”
Stones has not featured for Man City since playing the full 90 minutes of the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal at the start of August.
Guardiola’s men are currently second on the Premier League table behind surprise leaders, Brighton, they defeated newcomers, Burnley and fellow Champions League contender, Newcastle United in their first two games.
