Southampton boss, Russell Martin has become the latest English Premier League (EPL) manager to lose his job after a disappointing loss.
He was sacked after suffering 5-0 annihilation from visiting Tottenham on Sunday night.
The heavy loss left the Saints, nine points off Premier League safety and firmly rooted in the bottom.
Martin, 38, guided Southampton to promotion last year in his first season in charge, beating Leeds United in the play-off final at Wembley.
However, Sunday’s loss against Spurs was Southampton’s 13th in the league this campaign from 16 games.

Their only win this season was against Everton in November, while the St Mary’s club have scored a league-low 11 goals.
Prior to this development, another EPL club, Wolves had parted ways with their manager, Gary O’Neil after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to nineteenth placed Ipswich Town at Molineux Stadium.
His sacking comes just three days after Wolves chairman Jeff Shi said the club was “united” behind O’Neil following Monday’s defeat at West Ham.
O’Neil replaced Julen Lopetegui just four days before the start of the 2023-24 season, with Wolves going on to finish 14th.
His team knocked Liverpool and Manchester United out of the FA Cup along the way and picked up Premier League wins over Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal.
