Soludo hosts Muslim community, seeks synergy across board

Soludo received the Muslim delegation at the Government House, Awka

In continuation of efforts at building bridges of understanding among citizens and residents of Anambra, the Muslim Community in the State, on Wednesday June 1, 2022, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.

Governor Soludo received the delegation at the Government House, Awka.

The leader of the delegation Alhaji Abdulrahim Suberu, explained that the essence of the visit by the Muslim community representatives was to show solidarity as well as pledge support to the governor and his administration.

Alhaji Suberu commended Soludo’s strategic approach to solving security challenges in the state.

He recalled that the state had been peaceful until the recent upsurge of criminal activities by some misguided elements and noted that the Muslim community in the state were satisfied with the governor’s firm resolve to tackling the issue.

Addressing the delegation, Governor Soludo emphasized that Ndi Anambra are accommodating and peace loving people.

Governor Soludo reassured that the current insecurity in the State is being addressed and very soon peace will return to the state.

The Governor added that his government welcomes and is also disposed to partnering with well-meaning and development-oriented individuals in the state, irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations to move the state forward economically.

He charged members of the Community to remain law abiding and synergize with him to build a healthy and prosperous homeland where anybody can live and do business.

Sarkin Hausawa and Treasurer Anambra State Muslim Council, Alhaji Ilyasu Yushau, among others were part of the visit.

Anambra has of late been embroiled in daunting security challenges, occasioned by unknown gunmen and other criminal elements.

Among the recent victims were a lawmaker representing Aguata 11 Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Okechukwu Okoye, who was beheaded alongside his aide, Cyril Chiegboka, as well as a pregnant woman, Mrs. Harira Jibril and her four children.

Rattled by the gruesome developments, the governor has embarked on capacity building to assure the various communities in the state of their safety while taking far reaching measures to contain the activities of the criminals.
