Tragedy struck again in Anambra State as gunmen have brutally murdered a model, former ‘Mr Anambra Universe,’ Slami Ifeanyi.

According to reports, the 31-year-old model was driving alone in his newly acquired Lexus 330 when he was attacked and killed at Umubere area in the state capital, Awka.

It was gathered that the former Mr. Anambra Universe acquired the Lexus 330 jeep two weeks ago.

The lifeless body of the deceased was seen hanging from the car in a pool of his own blood in a video on the internet on Tuesday.

Reacting to the brutal killing of Ifeanyi, one Itz Macarthy, a digital director, said it was shocking and painful.

He wrote: “Dear Slami Ifeanyi, am just so shocked and pained getting the news of your demise. I remember the first time we met at a club in Awka.

“You simply welcomed me at your table and shared drinks. Meeting you further at shows, you were so simple, despite your talents and physical endowment.

“Well, we cannot question God when certain things happen. As it pleased him to call you so abruptly, may it please him too to welcome you into his bossom. Jee nke oma ezigbo!”

Fans have also taken to social media to send their condolence messages.

On Facebook, a user identified as Nwanya Bernard said, “This again tore me apart! Dude was my man from way back, hardworking, focused talented handsome dude. And today I hear he is gone, all because Nigeria failed you.

“The monster instituted by a failed system is eating up the future ambassadors. Slami Ifeanyi of St Rita’s Hostel! RIP buddy. Soon! We will take back our country.”

Another user Chijioke Okanmelu wrote, “I was speechless when I got the news of your death Ifeanyi, but I’m still not believing yet because this is not what we discussed last week on the phone. What do you want your dad and your mum to do?… Rest in peace Slami Ifeanyi.”

“RIP to you dear Facebook friend, one of the cutest of them all. Rest in peace Slami Ifeanyi, so we’ll never talk again? ‘Obi agbawalam’,” another user Blessing Okonofua wrote.
