Afrobeats sensation Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has candidly shared her battle with imposter syndrome, revealing a profound period of personal and artistic transformation.

In a heartfelt post on X, Simi expressed how she, despite having a deep understanding of herself in the past, experienced a disconcerting sense of disconnection and loss in recent years. She described feeling like a stranger to her own identity, a sentiment that has deeply affected her.

“Making this album is a symbol of finding parts of myself again that I hoped I hadn’t lost permanently. I don’t believe that we ever stop finding ourselves. If you’re willing to look, there’s always more,” Simi wrote, emphasizing the continuous journey of self-discovery.

This introspective journey is encapsulated in her upcoming album, “Lost and Found,” set to release on July 5th, 2024. The album marks a significant milestone in Simi’s career as she reconnects with her passion for music, melody, and storytelling through love songs.

Simisola Kosoko explained that the album is a tribute to the process of rediscovery, both personal and artistic. “When I sing, I do it first for me, then for you. In this order, because I can not give what I do not have,” she shared. “‘LOST AND FOUND’ is about me reclaiming my chemistry with music, melody and love stories. I hope you feel it too when you listen.”

The announcement of “Lost and Found” has been met with anticipation and excitement from fans and the music community alike. Simi’s openness about her struggles and the deeply personal nature of this album promises an authentic and resonant listening experience.

With “Lost and Found,” Simi invites her audience to join her on a journey of self-reflection and renewal, encouraging everyone to embrace their own paths of growth and rediscovery.
